burn down to ash (6:43:52 PM): They'd both graduated and summer was just starting

Ash (6:43:52 PM): They'd both graduated and summer was just starting. Things had gone pretty good for the last month... since everything that had happened after Avery's birthday. The only thing that hadn't changed was that Ash was still hiding the sickness he had... still pretending it was gone.
Avery (6:47:16 PM): Avery was sitting cross-legged on the floor, searching through piles of papers for Uni and chewing at his lip, glasses sliding down his nose.
Ash (6:50:35 PM): It was time to take his other ride out of the garage, an orange and black YZF-R6 that had spent all winter sitting beside his set of four wheelers and dirt bikes. Dusting the cap off, he revved it and took off down the street toward's Avery's.
Avery (6:53:55 PM): Making a face at all the paperwork he still had to fill out, he fell back against the couch and stretched.
Ash (6:54:59 PM): Revving it as he came down the street, he smirked and lifted the tire. It was something he hadn't done in months... but fuck did he love his bikes. Finally coming to it, he pulled into the driveway with the soft purr from the engine.
Avery (6:57:02 PM): Avery heard the noise but thought nothing of it as he got to his feet and made his way into the small kitchen to get some juice.
Ash (7:01:48 PM): Pocketing his keys, he set his helmet down and went to knock at the door.
Avery (7:03:16 PM): "Hold on!" Avery called out, setting the jug aside and going to the door. Opening it, he smiled. "Hey there."
Ash (7:03:55 PM): "Hey," grinning a little and stepping in, barely enough room on the landing for them both so he stood up close to Avery.
Avery (7:04:24 PM): "Come in." Avery stepped back to let him in, messing with his own hair.
Ash (7:04:39 PM): Ash kissed his cheek and stepped in.
Avery (7:07:35 PM): An impish grin lit his face and he shut the door. "What's up?
Ash (7:08:55 PM): "Bored, love... just bored," toeing sandals off and fixing his newly bought half-sleeved clothes with stripes he wore on his arms.
Avery (7:09:56 PM): Avery nodded a bit and went back to the kitchen. "Want anything?"
Ash (7:11:02 PM): "Mmm... 'ave any ice-cream?" peeking close over Avery's shoulder.

Avery (8:36:13 PM): "I have several kinds." Avery nodded proudly.
Ash (8:36:48 PM): He kissed the back of his neck under his hair line. "Mmm... pick one for me?"
Avery (8:44:30 PM): "Okay." Avery grinned and rifled through the freezer, bringing out peanut butter ice cream.
Ash (8:44:54 PM): "My hero," kissing his cheek wetly.
Avery (8:47:47 PM): He giggled and nudged his nose to Ash's jaw.
Ash (8:52:02 PM): He plucked the carton up and smiled, going over to get a bowl.
Avery (8:53:33 PM): Avery dashed over to the counter, hopping up on it and swinging his legs.
Ash (8:53:47 PM): "an d what were you doing today?" scooping some out.
Avery (8:55:24 PM): "Going through stuff for Uni and all that. Boring."
Ash (8:56:22 PM): "Yup. Boring," holding out a scoop.
Avery (8:57:37 PM): Avery leaned forward and took a bite with a grin.
Ash (8:58:28 PM): "I should pay your dads to tell me what to buy for grocerys."
Avery (8:59:13 PM): Avery snorted a bit. "Don't take Cai if he's hungry. He might make you buy the whole shoppe."
Ash (8:59:36 PM): "Thats alright. Its better than my half-empty fridge."
Avery (9:02:38 PM): He laughed into his hand. "Caiden's the better shopper. My dad's just good at the cooking part."
Ash (9:05:19 PM): Ash smiled a little, feeling much better than he had so far this week.
Avery (9:07:08 PM): "I talked to him earlier today. He was helping me with the finances over the phone."

Avery (9:10:28 PM): "It's in London. A smaller art school."

Ash (9:19:24 PM): "Mm... shame shame..." laughing and eating his icecream.
Avery (9:21:58 PM): Avery pulled him close with his legs. "I'll cook for you every day."

Ash (2:42:09 AM): He took off down a busy street... not quite like the highway, but busy.
Avery (2:42:46 AM): "This is fantastic!" Avery yelled over the sound of the engine and the cars passing them by.
Ash (2:43:21 AM): A grin and he revved it, finally pulling into a lot.

Ash (2:01:16 AM): "They're a bit different than driving. I've been riding on bikes since I was 13," his mom had bought his first dirtbike then. And sure, he'd had scrapes and bumps, but he drove them much better than his actual car.
Avery (2:01:39 AM): Phoenix quirked a brow. "I really don't care when you have my son on the back of it."
Ash (2:03:49 AM): Avery didn't say anything and it pissed Ash off a little.

At this, Phoenix was quiet and Avery nodded. "That's what I thought. G'bye, Dad. We're g oing to the movies now."

Ash: Glancing at Avery, he didnt say anything and disappeared.
Avery: Leaning back, he glanced around the room.
Ash (9:55:09 PM): Ash sat on a table in a tiny and empty room, looking around.
Avery (9:55:49 PM): Grabbing a magazine, he flipped through it, chewing at his lip.
Ash (10:01:18 PM): After awhile, almost 15 minutes, he laid back and closed his eyes. He didn't know he had mostly just passed out from a sort of exhaustion.

Avery (10:24:09 PM): Avery blinked and looked up. "Yeah, how is he?"
Ash (10:26:02 PM): The nurse gave him a 'sorry' sort of look. "Well his vitals are below normal and he's slipped into a sort of coma. There's no reason to think that its anything but temporary. It's most likely from exhaustion."
Avery (10:36:47 PM): Biting his lip hard, Avery frowned. "Oh...okay. Is he gonna be allright?"
Ash (10:38:35 PM): "They're sending an ambulance for him right now. He's probably going to have to stay for a day or two, depending on what they think down there."
Avery (10:39:48 PM): "Umm I'll...I'll call his mum."
Ash (10:40:16 PM): "Will you be riding with him?'

Ash: Setting down her fork. "Which hospital are they taking him too?"
Avery: Avery looked over at the nurse and then rattled it off.

Ash (1:15:32 AM): They were bringing him out on the stretcher they'd taken to the building.

He really only did when he was 14 and he brought his first... well, his first boy home. He never said they were his boyfriends, but I guess I always just thought he knew I would think so. I thought he was happy..."

Avery (4:05:55 PM): Avery fiddled with his thumbs, wishing they would just talk to break the silence.
Ash (4:13:28 PM): But they stayed quiet and his doctor came in. "How are you feeling?" Ash stared daggers at him. "Bloody wonderful," licking his lip. The doctor looked over the chart and asked hima bout his symptoms.. Ash just told him he'd stopped doing it on purpose almost two months ago.

Avery (3:14:54 AM): Slipping into the car again, he sank down and fiddled with a thread on his pants.
Ash (3:18:44 AM): "What did they say earlier when you were there?" cautiuosly.
Avery (3:19:04 AM): Avery shrugged. "I don't really remember..."
Ash (3:19:52 AM): "Alright..." nodding a little.
Avery (3:21:45 AM): He stroked over the front of his legs. "I guess I was spacing."
Ash (3:25:53 AM): "It's alright..." they arrived at the hospital not too long later, "do you want me to come with you?"
Avery (3:26:30 AM): Avery shook his head. "No, I'll be fine. I'll...see you at home later."
Ash (3:31:00 AM): "Okay," parking and waiting for him to get out. "If you need me, you know where I am."
Avery (3:31:28 AM): He nodded and got out, shutting the door. "Later." Walking into the clinic, he headed up the stairs.
Ash (3:32:53 AM): People were bustling around but it was pretty calm. Ash was asleep in his room, grateful he was alone.
Avery (3:33:20 AM): He made his way up to the room and didn't knock. Stepping in, he stood there at the door a moment, just watching his boyfrend sleep.
Ash (3:33:52 AM): Turning over in bed, the light dim, he curled up a bit.
Avery (3:34:13 AM): Gavin touched his side, hand cupped there. "Goodnight, Caiden."
Avery (3:35:40 AM): Avery made his way over and sat down next to the bed, steepling his fingers under his chin.

Ash (3:36:33 AM): Ash looked at him. "I lost track of fixing myself when I started fixing you."
Avery (3:37:24 AM): "Don't you do that. Don't make it like you couldn't help yourself because of me."
Ash (3:39:05 AM): "I didn't say I couldn't. I said I fell off the track and I was helping you... I didn't care about myself."

Ash (3:41:20 AM): A sigh, frustrated. "I didn't say I stopped completly... stoppe watching myself... I got lost in helping you."

Avery (6:41:43 PM): Avery licked over his dried lips and huffed a little, frustrated
Ash (7:00:01 PM): "i don't really want to fight right now, anyways," his voice flat.
Avery (7:00:30 PM): He didn't reply, just clasped his hands together tightly.
Ash (7:04:12 PM): "I didn't think you would come back."
Avery (7:04:39 PM): Avery glanced over. "Neither did I."
Ash (7:09:24 PM): "So what made you?"
Avery (7:11:59 PM): "Something my stepdad said."
Ash (7:31:24 PM): "What did he say?"
Avery (7:40:03 PM): "That if I loved you I'd be here, or something along those lines."
Ash (7:43:11 PM): "If you loved me, you would of tried to stay."
Avery (7:44:03 PM): Avery pressed his lips together, looking at Ash with narrowed eyes. "That's right, I ran off and now apparently I don't love you."
Ash (7:46:16 PM): "I didn't mean it like that. But you left, didn't you? Were you really that scared I would die?"
Avery (7:46:48 PM): "Well that's how it sounded, Ash. And yes, I was."
Ash (7:48:37 PM): Ash shifted in his spot. "Doesn't matter now, then. I'm staying here and you can go home and stop worrying."
Avery (7:49:40 PM): Avery frowned deeply. "Fine. Goodbye then."
Ash (7:55:23 PM): "Visiting hours are over in 5 minutes."
Avery (7:56:31 PM): Glancing at the clock, he nodded a bit. "Yeah, of course." He got up from the chair.
Ash (8:22:11 PM): Ash sat up more and looked at him. "I love you."
Avery (8:22:42 PM): Avery looked down at him a bit sadly. "I-I love you too."
Ash (8:29:58 PM): "I'll be here tommorow."
Avery (8:30:31 PM): Avery nodded a bit and leaned over, pressing a brief kiss to Ash's lips. "I'll visit."
Ash (8:32:23 PM): Swallowing a little, he nodded too.
Avery (8:35:09 PM): With one last lingering look, Avery left the room.
Ash (8:37:53 PM): Ash smled a little when Avery seemed a little less worried, slipping out of bed quietly to the bathroom.
Avery (8:39:04 PM): Avery made his way back outside and then hailed a cab to go get his car.

Ash (4:21:05 PM): Ash fell asleep to some talk show, curled up
Avery (4:25:06 PM): When he got back to his place, he sat on the couch, chin in his hands, watching shadows on the wall and unable to stop thinking of Ash.

Ash (1:47:44 AM): The first thing he was told the following morning was that he had been admitted by his mother...and since someone had admitted him for a disorder like this... he had to stay for a set number of days.
Avery (1:49:42 AM): Avery got up the next morning, heading off to classes even though his mind didn't stray too far from Ash.
Ash (1:56:55 AM): Ash thought about Avery, though. He didn't like how they had pinpointed what therapy he should undergo. They wanted to put him through cognitive-behavioral therapy so he would learn to monitor and portion his own foods. They told him it would help change how he acted when bad situations came around. The thing they didn't seem to get, though, was that he was happy... He'd tried to be happy... and the bad situation that had set him off was something he refused to himself to say.
Avery (2:00:17 AM): He sat in class now, tapping a pencil on the blank paper before him. Make up a recipe. It's not that hard. You've done it a thousand times.
Ash (2:00:48 AM): A nurse brought him somemagazines... exactly what he requested, too, home and garden types.
Avery (2:03:18 AM): He scrawled down things that he knew didn't even make sense. Then traipsing up to the front of the room, he set the papers down in front of his professor.
Ash (2:05:42 AM): Flipping through things, he dogearred pages.
Avery (2:06:43 AM): Going back to the table, he grabbed up his things and left, going in search of a cafe for a big mug of coffee. An addiction he'd gotten from his father.
Ash (2:07:11 AM): They brought him food and he swore they were watching his every bite.
Avery (2:08:21 AM): He settled in a seat at a cafe across from the university, curling up and ordering a regular black coffee.
Ash (2:09:05 AM): The day was slow and, unfortunently, he ended up eating all the food and they decided he would get less for lunch since he couldn't handle it.
Avery (2:12:14 AM): When he arrived back at his flat, he found a message from his professor telling h im to see him before class the next day.
Avery (2:24:39 AM): When he arrived back at the house, he found the twins running around and they nearly knocked him over. He rolled his eyes and slipped past them, in no mood to deal with their rambuncious personalities.
Ash (2:27:48 AM): Ash, for the life of him, couldn't remember cell phone numbers... So he sat there and looked at the phone after dinner.
Avery (2:34:27 AM): He sat in his bedroom, music up loud and tried to sketch something, anything.
Ash (2:36:46 AM): Sighing a little, he realized no one was going to come see him.
Avery (2:39:03 AM): But his inspiration was stuck and he growled, flinging the pad across the room. Glancing at the clock, he uttered a curse, realizing visiting hours were over in a little over a half-n-hour. He raced out of the room, grabbing his keys and going out to his car. Driving as fast as he could, he got to the hospital and arrived in Ash's room, breathless.
Ash (2:39:38 AM): Ash had curled up for a nap out of boredem, the TV on.
Avery (2:41:41 AM): He took a breath and tiptoed over to the bed, leaning down and kissing Ash's temple.
Ash (2:44:10 AM): His eyes blinked open sleepily, looking up.
Avery (2:44:51 AM): "Hey you." He smiled at him. "Sorry Icame so late. I lost track of time."
Ash (2:45:52 AM): "S'okay..." his voice gruff.
Avery (2:46:16 AM): He sat down beside the bed, taking up Ash's hand. "You feeling better?"
Ash (2:47:44 AM): "Sort of..." sitting up a little.
Avery (3:02:26 AM): He played with Ash's fingers. "That's good."
Ash (3:27:59 AM): "yeah... it's alright..." nodding.
Avery (3:28:27 AM): Avery covered his hand with his other and smiled just a little.
Ash (3:30:51 AM): "So what did you do today?"
Avery (3:31:43 AM): "I went to class. Went home. Listened to music and tried to draw, ate and threw out more papers than I drew on. Then I noticed the time and hightailed it here."

Avery (5:35:27 PM): He nodded a bit and grasped their fingers together.
Ash (5:57:05 PM): Ash was quiet for a moment. "They want to put me through some therapy and learn how to deal with 'difficult situations' better."
Avery (5:59:54 PM): Avery glanced up at him. "Yeah? Think it'll help??"
Ash (6:03:06 PM): "I don't think that's my problem," half-lying.
Avery (6:04:53 PM): He arched a brow. "Oh."
Ash (6:05:30 PM): "If I could keep it down there wouldn't be a problem."
Avery (6:11:23 PM): Avery scratched at the back of his neck. "Just let them help you."
Ash (6:12:50 PM): As far as he saw it, he didn't have a problem keeping his finger down his throat.
Avery (6:13:59 PM): Sighing, Avery looked away and chewed on his lip.
Ash (6:30:05 PM): "I just want to be able to eat what you make me and not toss it up."
Avery (6:31:26 PM): AVery frowned and then looked back at him. "You will."
Ash (6:47:47 PM): Ash looked at him. "I know... I just... I don't think I need all this pyshological bullshit. My mom's got me in here until almost the end of August."
Avery (6:51:02 PM): "That's what it is, Ash. Psychological bullshit. It starts with that whether you think so or not."
Ash (6:55:54 PM): "I didn't say it didn't start with it," a little twinge of a snap in his voice.
Avery (6:58:06 PM): Avery pressed his lips together. "Then don't act like it's not necessary."
Ash (7:02:41 PM): "It's not, Avery. If I thought I had problems I would probably still be sticking my finger down my throat and thinking thats alright ot do."
Avery (7:07:00 PM): Avery rolled his eyes. "It doesn't matter what you think."
Ash (7:12:34 PM): "It matters because I know me better than you."
Avery (7:15:08 PM): He stared bullets at him and then nodded. "You're right, of course you do." Glancing at the clock, he had another twenty minutes but he was too frustrated to stay anymore. "See you in August,"he snapped, getting to his feet.
Ash (7:16:37 PM): "look, alright, I'll do whatever the fuck they want. But I know that you were a good enough reason for me to stop. The rest of me just didn't listn."
Avery (7:17:26 PM): Avery looked down at him and just stood there, amber eyes blazing. "Whatever you say, Ash."
Ash (7:17:45 PM): "i can't talk about how I feel without you blowing up."
Avery (7:20:13 PM): "Because you just snap right back at me like you're the only fucking one that's had a health problem that could get them a one way ticket to the morgue, you ass!"
Ash (7:22:25 PM): "The difference is yours WAS psycological," glaring at him.
Avery (7:23:08 PM): "Yeah, and yours is just because you don't wanna eat." He snarled. "Sure, Ash, keep trying to deny everything. That'll work out real well."
Ash (7:28:17 PM): "You don't think I don't want to eat? I fucking LOVE to eat, Avery. That's not the fucking problem."
Avery (7:30:06 PM): "I was being SARCASTIC!"
Ash (7:36:08 PM): Ash glared at him. "I don't need your fucking sarcasm right now."

Avery (12:23:22 AM): "I didn't mean because you're fucking IN HERE! Goddamn you, Ash." Avery kicked the end of the bed, tugging at a strand of hair.
Ash (12:27:21 AM): "Ah, thats right. Its because I'm pissing you off trying to tell you how I feel about all this."
Avery (12:32:10 AM): "You're being stupid is what you're doing. You can think all you want that you don't have something wrong in that fucking head of yours but you do. And when you finally fucking figure it out..."Avery paused, just staring at him. He waved his hands in the air. "Forget it. You obviously don't care so neither should I."
Ash (12:46:53 AM): "when I figure it out what?" his voice quiet and torn.
Avery (12:54:34 AM): Avery's shoulders slouched. "It'll be too late and I won't be here."
Ash (12:59:49 AM): "right..." sighing. "Av... I know what I want and it's not to keep doing this. I've been trying to get better on my own and I thought i was doing alright until I got here and they told me my stomach lining was so messed up it was making me sick without me doing it.'
Avery (1:04:33 AM): Avery searched his face for a long, quiet moment. "I know you can get better, but you have to do what they ask whether you believe in it or not."
Ash (1:09:39 AM): "And I said I would."
Avery (1:11:59 AM): A nod and he wrapped his arms around himself.
Ash (1:57:03 AM): Ash looked at the door a little and back at his blanket, frowning.

Avery (2:18:03 AM): Avery chewed on the inside of his cheek, coming over to the bed and maneuvering onto it for a moment and wrapping his arms around Ash. "I couldn't leave you. Ever."
Ash (2:23:22 AM): Ash lifted his arm up and put it around his back, smiling a little.
Avery (2:27:23 AM): He rested his head against Ash's, kissing his temple.
Ash (2:32:17 AM): "I'll see you tommorow."
Avery (2:34:32 AM): Avery nodded a bit and gave him a light squeeze before moving off the bed.

Avery (2:43:56 AM): "Love you too." He bent over and pressed a kiss to Ash's forehead.

Avery (1:14:57 AM): He got up and got breakfast, then decided to visit Ash early in the afternoon so that he could work on his paper that was due at night.
Ash (1:15:38 AM): They took him down with a consultation with someone. She talked to hima bout food... about a subject he didn't care much for.
Avery (1:16:36 AM): He took a shower, looked in the mirror and saw the same lackluster appearance that had been there the last few days. Grumbling, he made his way out to his car and drove to the hospital.
Ash (1:17:25 AM): After an hour of that he was allowed back to his room, where he flopped down and turned on the telly.
Avery (1:19:14 AM): Avery arrived there with a bouquet of flowers and headed up to Ash's room, knocking.
Ash (1:19:34 AM): sitting up better and fixing his gown. "Come in..." qietly.
Avery (1:20:57 AM): Stepping in, he smiled a little when he saw him and came over to the bedside, handing him the flowers

Avery (1:21:38 AM): Avery nodded a bit, blushing.
Ash (1:21:57 AM): Ash took them a moment, looked at them, smelled them, and then smiled.
Avery (1:22:44 AM): Sitting down next to the bed, he clasped his hands. "They looked nice. I thought you'd like them."
Ash (1:23:52 AM): "I like them," softly, setting them down on the desk.
Avery (1:28:20 AM): Avery smiled. "Good."
Ash (1:36:06 AM): "You're here early.
Avery (1:39:46 AM): "Yeah, I have this paper to write later. Long and grueling and stupid. So I thought I'd get some time in now."
Ash (1:46:20 AM): "Oh, alright..." smiling a litle
Avery (1:47:52 AM): He leaned at the side of the bed. "How're you feeling?"
Ash (1:48:14 AM): "Better."
Avery (1:49:31 AM): Nodding a bit, he took one of Ash's hands and kissed his knuckles.
Ash (2:06:09 AM): "Talked to some lady this morning."

Avery (2:18:52 AM): "Oh. Right. Yeah, that'd make sense..."he trailed off."

Avery (2:23:37 AM): Avery shrugged a bit. "Off and on. I woke up once and couldn't go back to sleep for a bit. Why?"
Ash (2:25:34 AM): "no reason..." small smile.
Avery (2:27:58 AM): "Oh, okay." Avery went back to playing with Ash's hand.
Ash (2:46:21 AM): "You look like you could use more sleep, though..." quietly.
Avery (2:47:00 AM): Avery sighed. "I wish. But if I don't get the paper done today I'll be behind."
Ash (2:48:16 AM): "How long are you staying?"
Avery (2:48:34 AM): Avery glanced at the clock. "I don't know. Till you kick me out.
Ash (2:49:06 AM): "Take your shoes off."
Avery (2:50:56 AM): He blinked a little. "Huh/"
Ash (2:51:42 AM): "C'mon..." making room. He hadn't slept most the night... but maybe Avery could help.

Avery (3:56:21 AM): "I think he's really tired. He said he didn't sleep well last night."
Ash (3:57:47 AM): The nurse nodded a little and decided not to wake him, quietly tapping his arm.
Avery (4:01:26 AM): "Do you want me to call you in again when he wakes up?"
Ash (4:03:02 AM): "No, it's alright..." smiling a bit at Avery.
Avery (4:04:14 AM): "Okay." He smiled back a little nervousl.y
Ash (4:07:21 AM): She poked him and Ash moved a little in Avery's arms, but not waking up.

Ash (1:54:35 AM): Ash didn't have nightmares of the exact incident... but he had faint things that hid in his dreams that always scared him. He rarely remembered it when he woke up, but it was always there.

Ash (2:37:22 AM): "Sorry I made you fall asleep..."
Avery (2:38:08 AM): "I liked it."
Ash (2:51:42 AM): "Mm... but you have a paper," softly.
Avery (2:52:53 AM): Avery nodded a bit. "Yeah, I know."
Ash (2:53:34 AM): Ash snuggled there, touching his cheek gently.
Avery (2:54:15 AM): He nudged his head against Ash's hand, grinning.

Avery (1:26:11 AM): "It doesn't belong to me. It doesn't belong to you. So tell me, Caiden, who else does this test belong to?!" Phoenix waved the little white stick around with a crazed look on his face. Avery was down the hall in his room, freaked out and sitting against the wall.

Ash (5:56:38 PM): Now he was sure something was wrong. Caiden only worked on Wednesdays at home to give himself a mid-week catchup. "Oh."
Avery (5:58:02 PM): "Goodbye, Ash." Phoenix went to shut the door.

Avery (6:01:49 PM): Phoenix clicked the lock and made his way to his studio. In his bedroom, Avery heard his phone ring and he stared at it blankly.

Avery (6:06:47 PM): He was depressed and lonely. He'd give anything to have Ash holding him but he was too s cared to let him know about all this. And now with his dads fighting, it made him feel like it was all his fault.
Ash (6:10:18 PM): Caiden stayed downstairs fuming, having not heard the doorbell ring, and Ash drove off on his bike.
